More clothing

I've been busy working on several things the last week or so, but most of them are in the middle stages (I've been trying to do cutting one day, embroidery another, etc.) and not ready to be shown.  However, I do have two new items to share!

The first is a pair of basic elastic waist pants.  These can work for a boy or a girl, but I made them for my boy.  He'll be wearing them with his Halloween Costume (Tolee, from Ni Hao, Kai-Lan).  Check them out!

Pardon the Black & White.  The lighting was poor and the picture was so grainy that converting it was the only way of saving it.  But I just love his pose!

And this one I particularly love.  As a matter of fact, I kind of wish I'd made it in my size! LOL  This is a Peasant Blouse with 3/4 length sleeves.  The pattern actually had short sleeves with elastic at the cuff, but I felt that with winter approaching we'd get more use out of 3/4 length.  I think it looks cute.  And now I know that I can adjust the sleeves to any length you desire!  This shirt was done with a knit jersey.  Other options are available, of course.

Don't I have the most adorable models?!

Go Green!

The trend these days is to bring your own reusable bags to the grocery store.  I have heard there are some stores that have completely done away with store bags and require customers to bring their own.  I know that Target and other stores provide a small discount to people who bring their own bags.

So what are you waiting for?  Can't find the right bags?  Look no further!  I made these bags as gifts for Christmas last year and I can tell you that all the recipients continue to use them and are asking me for more.  They are very durable, large, and the piping helps them to stand on their own so they are easy to load with groceries.  I'm actually sad I gave all of them away.  Every time I make some that I think I'll get to keep, someone else asks for some!

These pictures were actually taken of the bags I gave to a family member last Christmas.  After almost a year of use, they still look great!

I'll be charging $11 for one bag or $38 for a set of 4.  It's also possible to personalize these bags for an extra charge.  Contact me at niksnaks@ymail.com to place your order now!

Child's Kimono

My son and daughter (2 year old twins) love the show Ni Hao Kai-lan, so for Halloween they are going to be Tolee and Kai-lan.  Today I finished making a kimono for the Kai-lan costume.

Now that I've made one (and learned from my mistakes-- namely, fabric choice.) I'm excited to make more.  I see endless possibilities with this shirt!  From dressy to casual to anywhere in between.  I am able to make this shirt in sizes from 0-6 months to a child's size 8.  To order yours, email me at niksnaks@ymail.com.

Bibs and Burp Cloths

Remember those towels I posted about the other day?  The ones that make a great shower gift.  Why not take it a step further and include a matching bib and burp cloth?  Now that's a really special gift!

I make my bibs big.  Those dinky little ones you find at the store just didn't cut it for my kids.  I needed maximum coverage.  The closures are snaps because, quite frankly, velcro was too easy for my kids to pull off.  I've given a lot of these as gifts and have been told by many of the recipients that they are their favorite bibs by far.  My sister-in-law even came seeking more!

And remember, these can be personalized as well!

I Spy Bean Bags

I made these I Spy Bean Bags as a party favor for my twins' 2 year birthday party.  They were a huge hit with kids of all ages (My adult brother asked if he could take one home with him as well.  He claimed it was for his daughter, who was 5 months old at the time. ;) ).

In this particular bag I hid buttons of various shapes and colors as well as insect erasers (we had a ladybug/bee theme for the party).  I still have lots of the buttons and erasers and can cut a discount to anyone that wants to use the same items (since I won't have to buy any more).  However, other items and themes can be ordered as well.

Reversible Sun Top

What little girl doesn't like to change clothes a hundred times a day if given the opportunity?  With this reversible top, your princess can "change" several times throughout the day without adding to the laundry pile!

The top can be made in any size (yes, even adult if you're so inclined) and the fabric possibilities are endless.  Comment on this post if you are interested in making an order.

Hooded Towels

Many people receive hooded towels for their babies as shower gifts. Those tiny little wraps are great for drying baby for the first few months. But what about when they get a little bigger? A hood is still great for drying a toddler, preschooler, or child. Hey, sometimes I wish I had a hood on MY towels!

When we were expecting our twins a friend made us two amazing hooded towels that we still use and probably will for some time (my kids are two at the moment). They are made from a full sized towel and half a hand towel. I decided to take this one step further and add some personalized embroidery.

Now doesn't this make an even better shower gift?

Order your personalized hooded towels today. Colors, graphics, and names will determine the final price of your towel, but the "base" price (for no personalization) is $12. Comment on this post if you are interested in making an order.
